The Web Cache Viewer is a production-ready tool for archiving and reading web content with high fidelity and full privacy. It replicates the core functionality of Google's cache — without the dependency on a third party to keep it alive.
The tool routes requests through a curated set of high-performance CORS proxies — including AllOrigins and CORSProxy.io — to reliably fetch content across origins, bypassing the browser security restrictions that make direct client-side scraping impractical.
A DOM-traversal algorithm targets semantic containers (<article>, <main>, and equivalent structures) to isolate the primary content of any page. Ads, trackers, and sticky UI elements are stripped at parse time, leaving clean, readable output.
Cached pages are persisted entirely in localStorage — no data is transmitted to external servers. Your reading list lives on your device and remains accessible offline.
